Affordability
Our adoption fee of $200, or $150 for dogs over age 7, goes directly to offsetting medical costs, as well as towards caring for more saved lives.  Prior to adoption, all of our animals receive a wellness exam and are spayed/neutered, receive all age-appropriate vaccinations, and are heartworm tested and microchipped at no extra cost to the adopter. We also have discount programs through PetSmart, pet health insurance, boarding and daycare, and dog walking to offer to new adopters.

We ensure it’s the perfect fit right from the start
In most cases, we get to know our dogs prior to adoption while they are in foster care which allows us to better match each dog and adopter based on personality and needs. We also ask our adopters to do a 2-week “foster-to-adopt” before finalizing the adoption.  The FTA gives both the dog and adopter a chance to get to know one another to ensure that it is a permanent fit for both.  During the FTA, One Tail provides all supplies and covers all costs if needed.

Our volunteers works tirelessly to find homes for dogs that are in dire need of rescue.  By adopting rather than buying a dog, you are not only saving your dog, but allowing us to rescue another from the shelter.  That’s two lives you’re helping to save!
