Meet Gordon
Tuesday, March 22nd, 2011Warning: Graphic photo below.
Gordon, a 10 month old terrier mix, was found as a stray just a few weeks ago in Kane County, IL. He had what appeared to be severe chemical burns all over his body, but rather than euthanize, the staff at Kane County Animal Control felt this boy deserved a second chance. One Tail at a Time was contacted to provide rescue with the generous help of Trio Animal Foundation, who stepped up to sponsor his veterinary treatment. Higgins Animal Clinic was able to provide top notch veterinary care for a great discount, illustrating the amazing community support for this young boy.
Gordon had been healing well at the vet’s office, and on March 31st made the trek to his foster home. As soon as his transporter pulled into the driveway, Gordon hopped out of the car, wiggled his butt, and gave what’s become his trademark, an “I’m so happy!” piggy snort. Gordon will continue recovering in his foster home and should be ready for his neuter surgery in just a few weeks. Once that’s completed, this sweet boy will be ready for a forever home!
Can’t adopt but want to help Gordon?
Trio Animal Foundation has graciously committed to covering all of Gordon’s medical costs for his chemical burns. Click the link to make a donation and be sure to mention it’s for Gordon’s care.
One Tail at a Time also raises money through Dutch’s Fund, our medical fund used to treat dogs like Gordon who need extra TLC and continuing care. Donations to Dutch’s Fund will allow One Tail to respond to other medical emergencies, like Gordon, as well as assist adopted dogs who are diagnosed with medical conditions after adoption.
Gordon’s poor little body had been covered in chemical burns when he was first brought to the vet’s office.
Volunteer Juli helped him receive the medical treatment he badly needed.
