Dutch’s Fund
Dutch came to us in the very beginning in One Tail at a Time’s journey. He was a special little Dachshund who had kidney disease. He quickly stole the hearts of his foster family who adopted him and gave him all the love he needed for the next two years of his life. Dutch died on April 27, 2010. His smile and trot will live on forever in our hearts and his legacy will be used to raise awareness and support for special needs dogs.
All money raised for Dutch’s Fund will be used to help dogs with special medical needs. So many dogs are passed up in shelters because they need medication or surgery. One Tail at a Time hopes for a day when we have enough resources to help all such animals, but until that day comes please consider donating to help us save one at a time.
Dutch’s Fund Grants
One Tail at a Time knows that the costs of caring for a dog who unexpectedly is diagnosed with a major medical illness can effect an entire family’s well-being, and could potentially jeopardize the family’s ability to keep their dog in the home. In an effort to support our adopters throughout the entire life of their dog, we are developing a grant program using donations collected through Dutch’s Fund for adopters who have become financially burdened due to their dog’s unexpected medical bills. We want all of our adopters to know we are committed to each of our dogs’ happiness and well-being, even after the adoption contract has been signed.
If you’ve adopted a One Tail dog and have unexpectedly incurred major medical bills, you can apply for a Dutch’s Fund Grant by filling out theapplication and emailing it to AnnaOTAT@gmail.com.
