One Tail at a Time depends greatly on animal lovers like you to care for and help spread the word about our adoptable dogs! If you would like to do your part to save a life, contact [email protected] to find out more information.

All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and attend a volunteer orientation.

Next Volunteer Orientation

Volunteer orientations take place about once every month or two at our Adoption Center in Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood (2144 N. Wood Street). To register for our next orientation, or to be notified when others are scheduled, please email [email protected]. Space at each orientation is limited and must be reserved in advance. We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming orientation!

If you are looking for opportunities for a child, or you are under 18 years of age, there are other ways that you can make a difference! See them here.

DOG HANDLING AT ADOPTION EVENTS

Spending as little as a few hours on a weekend afternoon can make a difference in finding a dog his or her new home. Volunteers provide the invaluable service of handling and introducing dogs to interested families. Events are often held every weekend. View our calendar of events.
