one tail at a time

Dear Pet Lovers,

One year ago we made the heartbreaking decision to close our facilities for the foreseeable future to keep our staff and the public safe from Covid-19. While closing was not an easy choice, we were confident that our volunteers and foster homes would help us adjust to a new world of virtual adoptions.

We are pleased to share that in 2020 we adopted out more animals than ever. While we are grateful for that incredible milestone, we also can’t wait for a sense of normalcy to return to Chicago so we can connect meaningfully and in person.

On Saturday April 3rd, we will take one more step towards normalcy here by re-opening our Adoption Center for regular business hours. Our staff has been vaccinated, and our volunteers have demonstrated their dedication to our animals and a respect towards our community with remarkable adherence to our mask and social distancing guidelines.

We hope the public searching for an adoptable pet will join us in person. We ask that anyone coming to our Adoption Center wear a mask over their mouth and nose and adhere to social distancing guidelines at all times.

Thank you for all your cooperation and all your dedication to homeless pets!
