Salary: $100,000 annually
Work Week: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, with some weekend and weeknight flexibility required. Hybrid work model, Chicagoland location required.
Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and empathetic Human Resources Director who is passionate about fostering a human-centered workplace culture. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of strategic vision, people skills, tech savvy, have substantial knowledge of laws and compliance, and be passionate about a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive work environment.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement HR strategies and programs aligned with the organization’s overall goals and objectives.
- Provide strategic guidance on talent acquisition, retention, and development.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement with a focus on employee well-being and engagement.
- Help Senior Leadership plan for growth by ensuring alignment with the organization’s external and internal values.
Talent Management:
- Lead efforts to attract, recruit, and onboard diverse and high-caliber talent.
- Design and implement effective performance management processes that emphasize employee growth and development.
- Develop succession plans to ensure a pipeline of skilled and diverse leaders.
- Develop and implement training programs that enhance the skills and capabilities of employees.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Proactively identify and find pathways for emerging talent and leaders.
Employee Relations:
- Act as a trusted advisor to employees and management on HR-related matters.
- Promote open communication and conflict resolution, ensuring a positive work environment.
- Implement programs that enhance employee morale, satisfaction, and work-life balance.
- Help plan staff meetings, engagement and communication strategies
- Regularly plan all staff meetings and engagement opportunities with the guidance of the Leadership team
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion:
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives throughout the organization.
- Implement strategies to create an inclusive workplace that values and leverages the unique perspectives of all employees.
- Monitor and analyze diversity metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Compliance and HR Operations:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
- Oversee HR operations, including payroll, benefits administration, and HR systems.
Technology Application:
- Leverage technology to streamline HR processes and enhance the employee experience.
- Explore tools that support varied work locations, collaboration, and communication.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field a plus.
- 7+ years of relevant HR experience with experience in a non-profit or entrepreneurial setting is a plus.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills, with a genuine interest in building positive relationships.
- Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations, with a willingness to stay updated and learn more.
- Enthusiastic about fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team and take on leadership responsibilities when needed.
- Eagerness to develop strategic thinking skills and translate HR initiatives into meaningful organizational impact.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to adapt to a dynamic and evolving work environment.
- Willingness to pursue relevant certifications or training programs to enhance HR knowledge and skills.
