Chicago Community Pet Coalition

In 2010, One Tail at a Time and Alive Rescue began holding “Community Pet Days,” where pet owners in need could receive microchips, vaccines, spay/neuter vouchers and other pet resources. In 2014, the Chicago Community Pet Coalition was officially co-founded.

The purpose of the Coalition is to provide base level pet care, including vaccines and spay/neuter, free of charge in Chicago’s neediest neighborhoods. The Chicago Community Pet Coalition knows that families and pets are happiest when they can stay together.

These biannual Community Pet Days have now provided resources to thousands of dogs, and One Tail at a Time is proud to be at the forefront of this progressive community pet support tactic in order to keep pets in their loving homes and out of our shelters.
