Petco Love (formerly Petco Foundation) holds an annual campaign for animal lovers all across the country to share the story of how an adopted rescue animal has positively impacted the adopter’s life. This campaign (formerly called Holiday Wishes) is a great opportunity to highlight the amazing stories and love that rescue animals can bring into our lives. Several OTAT families have helped us to win in the past – check out Opal’s, Charlotte’s, and Poochie’s stories!
We encourage everyone to submit their adoption story – share the big and small ways that your adopted pet has changed your life for the better and you could earn a grant of up to $100,000 for One Tail – in addition to some cool prizes for you and your pet, including a Petco shopping spree!

Submitting Your Adoption Love Story
Love Stories should focus on the ways your pet has changed your life for the better. Each submission is limited to 500 words or less and must include four supporting photos: one photo of your pet by him/herself, one photo of you or your family with your pet and two additional photos that help illustrate your story. You may also submit an optional video to further illustrate your Love Story.
Visit petcolove.org/lovestories to read winning entries from prior years for inspiration and to submit your own. Remember, good stories will show how the love of your pet has changed YOUR life!
When completing your application, be sure to select One Tail at a Time (Chicago) from the drop-down menu so that we can verify your adoption and your Love Story can qualify for a grant award.

What is Petco Love?
Petco Love (formerly Petco Foundation) is an organization that partners with animal welfare groups across the US to create a positive impact in the rescue community. Over 20,000 adopters have shared Love Stories detailing all the ways their pet changed their life, resulting in more than $7M in funding from Petco Love for the animal welfare organizations that make these adoption matches possible.
You can share your Love Story by October 31st, 2023 for a chance to earn a Petco Love grant award for the organization you adopted from!
To qualify, you must:
– Be 18 years of age or older, or complete the application process with guardian consent.
– Submit a story about a pet who is currently living.
– Submit a story about a pet who was adopted from a U.S. based animal welfare organization (including but not limited to: animal control organizations, foster-based rescues, Humane Societies, or SPCAs) that can verify your adoption
– Agree to the contest terms and conditions.
