Crate trained: Yes! She has done well in her crate when home alone for a full workday.

Leash walking: Dakota loves her walkies, but can bark and pull when she sees other dogs on walks - we don't blame her, it's exciting! She will need to keep working on this with positive reinforcement.

Dog social: She lives with a resident dog in her foster home and has been doing very well with him! She is patient and tolerant, and happy to share.

Cat social: Unknown

Kid friendly: She has done well in brief interactions with kids as young as 3

Dakota likes:

- Getting a new toy or treat

- Cuddling, and being big spoon during naptime!

- Playing with a dog pal

Dakota is a wonderful 5-year young-at-heart girl! She is very sweet towards humans and loves to play with the resident beagle in her foster home (they are inseparable). She has the perfect blend of energy when playing, but ready to snuggle when needed. Dakota is very well mannered in the home and responds well to cues. Dakota would likely be comfortable in any housing environment. She currently lives well in an apartment and does not get phased by people/animals passing by in the hallway or any outside noises. She is loyal to her humans and attentive to what’s happening around them. She has been working on her leash reactivity, and would appreciate an adopter who can help her keep up with this work!
