Opportunities for Kids & Teens

Dog lovers of all ages can help save lives with One Tail at a Time! While you must be 18 or older to volunteer with us, there are many other ways to make a difference.

Organize a Fundraiser

With each donation, One Tail is able to save more lives. You can help by planning a fundraising event or collecting donations from your friends and family! Collect your donations around a birthday or special occasion to celebrate in a meaningful way. Start a fundraising page >>

Spread the Word

Word of mouth is by far the greatest ways to help our adoptable dogs find their forever homes! By sharing photos of our rescue dogs, or by telling others about OTAT on Facebook and Instagram, you can help connect more dog lovers to our mission of saving as many lives as possible.

Make a snufflemat.

Snufflemats make great enrichment toys for our dogs!  All dogs benefit from keeping their minds busy, but especially dogs in a shelter environment. Here’s an easy DIY tutorial on how your child or teen can make one of these fun feeding mats right from home.

Plan a Supply Drive

One Tail’s wish list is full of supplies needed to save more lives and care for our homeless dogs. Supplies can be collected and delivered to our adoption center during open hours, or sent straight to the OTAT adoption center through AmazonSmile.

Become a Foster Family

One Tail’s adoption center is small, so we rely heavily on foster families to be able to save more lives.  Your family will receive all the supplies and support needed to care for your foster dog until it’s time for them to join a forever family. The foster period is typically 2-3 weeks, but can vary depending on each dog’s needs. Learn more here.

If you plan to throw a personal fundraiser for OTAT, please let us know by emailing [email protected] so that we can say thanks for your support!
