Why I "Sit": Kathy + Cooper

Just over 10 years ago, I was finishing up with college and was ready to adopt my first dog. I went to my local shelter and found Cooper. He was the cutest puppy, and apparently him smearing poop on my winter coat was the sign that we were meant to be.

Fast forward those 10 years, and Cooper has driven me to become who I am today. He has helped shape my career in rescue and dog training, along with the hundreds of animals that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and working with along the way.

Some dogs aren’t perfect. That doesn’t mean they’re any less deserving of finding their forever family.

So I hope you’ll join us for OTAT’s Sit-in for Shelter Dogs on June 14th to honor the quirky dogs, the imperfect dogs, the animals we’ve saved so far, and the ones that didn’t get their chance to change someone’s life for the better.

I’ll be sitting for Cooper, and all the other dogs that have changed my life. One Tail at a Time is on track to rescue 1,500+ animals this year, so we need your support to help all those still waiting.
